Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to manage how one shows up so there is consistency in reaching goals and objectives. The  micro-skills within EI include: 

  • Awareness of what is going on internally and redirecting those impulses to serve your desired aim or goal.
  • Awareness of what others may be experiencing and redirecting their emotions to stay focused on your goals. (Example, managing conflict, not shutting it down or ignoring it.)
  • Agility to pivot and adapt as needed in order to stay focused on main goal.

Strong emotional intelligence (EI) is a defining factor in a leader’s ability to consistently achieve results.
